About Missouri Septic Pros
Missouri Septic Pros explains how septic permits actually work in Missouri, county by county, and connects homeowners with independent local septic contractors. It is operated by Compass Camper LLC (Oregon), trading as Compass Lead Group. We are not a contractor. We do not install, repair, inspect or pump anything, and nobody here holds a trade registration.
Why the site exists
Missouri does not run septic permitting one way. The state health department says so itself: in most counties the local health department issues the permit, and in the others it is another agency entirely, such as a sewer district, a building department or a planning and zoning office. Where the authority rests on a local ordinance, that ordinance can be stricter than the state standard. So a homeowner in one county follows a process their cousin two counties over would not recognize, and no single page maps it. That gap is what this site fills.
How we handle facts
Every regulatory statement on this site names the rule or the agency page it came from and the date we read it. When a requirement is set by a county rather than the state we say so, and we tell you to confirm with the permitting authority for your county, because those requirements change and no single page stays current for 114 counties at once. Where we could not confirm something, the page says that instead of filling the gap with a guess.
What we do not publish
- Prices. Septic work is priced from a site visit, and a number on a web page is a guess.
- Reviews or ratings of contractors, because we do not have a review system to report.
- Claims about how fast a contractor will call you back. The contractor sets their own schedule and answers for their own work.
- Any claim that a particular contractor is registered with the state. Missouri does require installers to register, and we show you how to check that yourself rather than promising it on their behalf.
Need the job done, not just the rule explained
Your request goes straight to an independent local septic contractor serving your Missouri county, usually within about an hour during the day, not a national lead list.
